INTENTIONAL ASSISTING

Assisting is more than hands-on adjustments—it’s the art of seeing, supporting, and empowering students in their practice.

In this continuing education course, teachers will explore how to assist with intention, confidence, and consent. You’ll learn when not to assist, how to read bodies and energy in the room, and how to offer support that enhances stability, strength, and awareness—without forcing shape or outcome.

This course is ideal for teachers who want to:

  • Feel more confident offering assists

  • Refine their touch and presence

  • Support students without over-correcting

  • Deepen connection and awareness in the classroom

Prerequisite: RYT200

    • This training will cover:

      • Foundations of effective assisting

      • Consent, communication, and student autonomy

      • Hands-on assists for common postures and transitions

      • Verbal and energetic assists as powerful tools

      • How to assist safely across different bodies, abilities, and class styles

      • Assisting in a way that builds trust and confidence—for both teacher and student

Teachers will leave with a deeper understanding of how assisting can elevate the student experience while staying aligned with their own teaching voice and the values of mindful, intentional movement.
